What is Community Supported Agriculture?
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a mutually beneficial
partnership between a farmer and the community. Members share locally
grown organic produce weekly. Some of the Heirloom variety,
high-quality produce offered to members cannot be purchased at the
local supermarket.
Philosophy
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) brings together community
members and farmers in a relationship of mutual support based on an
annual commitment to one another. Community members pay the farmer an
annual membership fee to cover costs of production. In turn, the
community members receive a share of the harvest during the local
growing season. This mutually beneficial arrangement assures the
community member of the freshest, organic produce and provides
financial support for the farmer.
How does the CSA Work?
Before the new season starts, the farmer sells shares in the
up-coming harvest. Shareholders become “members of the farm” and
receive a weekly supply of seasonal produce. The growing season for
the summer CSA lasts from March through December. Most produce is
harvested on the day of delivery, assuring its freshness, flavor,
ripeness and nutritional value.
What are the benefits of CSA membership?

Knowing where and how your food is grown, and having a personal
relationship with the people growing it.
